The BT-60 is two lights in one body: a 5W LED front torch for a focused beam, and a 32 SMD panel for wide-area light. Five modes cover both, three on the torch and two on the lantern. It charges over USB Type-C and weighs 1.1 kg, so it lives in a drawer, a tool kit or a vehicle until the power goes.
What Is the Balwaan Rechargeable Torch Used For?
Power cuts first. A handheld beam finds the fuse box; an area lantern lets you keep working in a room. Beyond outages, it goes to travel, camping, night farm work, workshop tasks, and study at night. The point of a 2-in-1 is that you don't have to choose in advance which light the situation needs, which is usually the problem with a plain torch.
Key Features of This 2 in 1 Torch
The mode set, the charging port and the build are what you actually deal with.
5W LED front torch for a focused, directed beam
32 SMD lantern panel for wide, ambient area light
Five lighting modes: three torch, two lantern
USB Type-C fast charging
Lithium-ion battery, no disposable cells to replace
1.1 kg, plastic body in black and red
LED Torch Mode for Focused, Powerful Light
The front LED puts 5 watts into a narrow beam with three modes to choose from. A concentrated beam is what you want when distance matters more than spread: checking a boundary at night, walking an unlit path, tracing a fault in a panel, or inspecting a machine. Wide light washes out at range; a focused beam does not.
LED Lantern Mode for Wide-Area Lighting
The 32 SMD panel does the opposite job. It throws soft light in all directions with two modes, which is what a room needs during an outage, or a tent needs at night. Set it down rather than hold it and it lights a work surface, a study table or a shared space without the harsh single shadow a torch beam creates.
Why Choose a Rechargeable Lantern for Emergencies
Disposable cells fail exactly when you need them, and usually the spares in the drawer are flat too. A rechargeable lantern removes that problem: you top it up from the same Type-C cable that charges your phone, and it holds charge between outages. Two lighting modes in one unit also means one thing to find in the dark instead of two. For a version that adds solar charging for longer outages, see the solar LED rechargeable torch.
Best Uses for This Emergency Torch
Power outages: Lantern mode for the room, torch mode for the fuse box or the stairs.
Travel and camping: Lantern inside the tent, torch for the walk outside it.
Night farm and field work: A focused beam for checking irrigation lines, livestock or boundaries after dark.
Workshops and vehicles: Area light over the work, beam into the engine bay or under the machine.
For a longer-running unit in the same family, the BT-65 rechargeable torch is the step up; for a pure search-light beam without the lantern panel, the BT-20 LED search light is the simpler tool.
